We had a really busy week with closing on the rental. I've been trying to get all the utilities hooked up. Water and gas are on, but because it was a foreclosure and electric had been turned off for 6+ mos we had to have an electrical inspection. A few things weren't up to code, the biggest fix I think was moving the smoke detector to the hallway--so nothing major. We're trying to get a second inspection scheduled, so electric can come out, and Mitch won't have to work without AC! I feel bad for him and Mike! A pipe did burst when the water was turned on from being improperly winterized, (great job, City) but that's been fixed. The bedrooms are cleaned out, cleaned up, and except for tape, are ready to be painted.
I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow. 22 weeks is when our little Saint Lily went to Heaven, so it's always an emotional week to get through. I've done great though, not having hardly any contractions at all. The biggest things have been staying hydrated, not getting too stressed out, and surrendering everything.
School is going great! We all love it. We got an awesome calendar from Amazon. It's huge but it's got weather and calendar. I also got the skirts made for the girls. They're soooo cute!! Tomorrow or Wednesday I'm expecting some Ariel fabric to come in. They're going to an Ariel play with Grandma in less than two weeks, and I'm going to make them matching dresses for the show.
On Saturday a family friend--so close she could be considered family--unexpectedly passed away. Because of the heat my grandma doesn't think I should try to make it to the funeral. I'm hoping we'll get a break in the heat, and I'll be able to go, but it is hard on me. We'll all miss Dora. I'm so thankful she was able to make it to Grandma and Pa's 65th anniversary and see everyone. Her husband was sick for a long time before passing, so we're glad she didn't have to suffer in that way. She's got a treasure trove of good deeds completed on behalf of our family, and now she's enjoying Paradise and her Eternal Reward. I'm especially thankful she already made our new baby's afghan--all the kids have one. : )
