Build Your Own Home update 1
I want to take notes of the home building process, mostly for myself for future reference, but hey if someone else happens upon this and gets info they need, all the better!
Thus far we have:
1) pick our lot. Some of the qualifications were, viewout, facing west, an open builder program, specials up to date (so it will qualify for hte 5yr tax moratorium), and close to school!
2) negotiate lot price and commission rate
3) close on lot (paying cash)
4) pick/buy our floorplan
5) decide on floorplan changes and optional upgrades
6) send in construction loan app AND have bank do an appraisal on the home based on the floor plan and specs
7) site planning done by engineering company

Zoobilee
Hubs talked me into zoobilee tix this yr. I've never been, but I do love the zoo and it is their largest benefit of the year. He had to work this morning and just told me he's going to shower and shave before the evening begins. I scoffed, asking why he needed to shave (I like a little growth!!), and he was like what you expect me to go around all those rich people looking like this? I had to break the news to him: We ARE the rich people.
Felt good to say.
Feels better actually feeling that way.
We've had a hella expensive month, and spending the money feels good. Some of it couldn't be avoided like the 355 to fix the AC for example. And Lexi NEEDED a new car seat, although technically she didn't need a 200 dollar Britax (regularly 339--I'm proud of my purchase!). But Gabi's PB bedding, Mitch's Dre Beats, and 8 new Fiesta dinnerwear settings were just because.
